Dawn Thomas Wallace is a name synonymous with Gospel Music.
The expression of gospel music has long since played an integral part in the growing years
of Dawn Thomas Wallace. The daughter of Rev. & Mrs. U T Thomas, Dawn from a tender age has had the opportunity to sing with church choirs, thereby enhancing this beautiful God-given talent of gospel singing.
At an early age Dawn became a Christian, and her faith has played an important part in her development as a person. She firmly believes that her ability to sing is a gift from God. This gift has enabled her to travel to different countries, meeting a variety of people and performing with great artistes: Clark Sisters, Denise Williams, Chaka Khan, Daryl Coley, Douglas Miller, Nicky Brown, London Community Gospel Choir, Bishop John Francis & The Ruach Gospel Choir and many more.
In Great Britain, Dawn is remembered from the 1980s when she sang with the Trumpets of Zion. They are remembered for their powerful voices, and made significant impact on the gospel scene. They were voted Best Female Gospel Group in the UK for 1983 and 1984.
As a solo artist Dawn has moved from strength to strength, singing with spiritual sincerity, glorifying God. In 1994, she received the DMI Award, and in 1995 the BBC Gospel Train Award, for being voted Best Female Gospel Soloist in Great Britain. Dawn has made several TV appearances, featured on popular gospel radio programs such as Premier, Choice FM, and BBC Radio and appeared in the West End Musical ‘Mama I Want to Sing’.
Dawn is married to Pastor Lionel Wallace and together they have two sons. They serve at the Living Waters ICF. Dawn has travelled extensively to many churches in Northern Europe and churches in numerous countries. She holds singing workshops and teaches singing in schools.
